Home Up Camping Cute Stuff Kitten Obsessions Others Winter Alexis

Alexis (aka: Alex (mostly), Lexy, Lexus, Lex, Al -- but never "Alley") is our new 10-week-old (at this moment) kitten.  We brought her home on April 18, 2004 at about 1pm.  She was born Feb 08, 2004.  As of the morning of April 19, she is 13 inches from the tip of her nose to her butt, with a 6-inch tail.  Her shoulder tops stand about 5-6" off the ground (hey, YOU try measuring a squirmy, curious kitten).  Sadly, I was unable to measure around her middle as she's just a bit TOO squirmy...

She's extremely curious, quite adventurous, and has spent the first 24 hours exploring every inch of this place!  Max has not exactly gotten used to it all yet, and on the first day we did wonder if he'd have to be muzzled.  After much hissing and slashing and posturing (on both sides actually), they've settled into an uneven stalemate.  Alex is just interested in exploring and max just wants her dead... However, he's come to realize that the kitten's death shall not be tolerated by their captors, and so contents himself with hissing and glaring at her from afar.  Meanwhile, Lexy seems unafraid -- she's already scouted several dozen escape routes and hiding places that are way too small for Max, and seems more than willing to defend herself with claws and whatever else should the need arise.

Max normally spends much of the night on our bed... beginning the night snuggled with Holly, and later, sleeping at the foot of the bed.  Last night (the first night), the kitten (likely attempting to find a place to sleep that was secure from possible sneak attack by the resident land-shark) spent the beginnings of the night on Holly's pillow, curled up.  Max, not to be outdone, curled up near the foot of the bed in the diagonally opposite corner.  So, in effect, they both managed to be as far as possible from each other while still on the same bed...  As I came to bed, I noticed the arrangement, then attempted to peel back the covers to get in... in doing so, I ever so slightly brushed Max with the blankets... I received a sullen hiss as he fled the room.  No telling what that's all about!

Anyhow, here's the very first available pictures of Alexis.  These were taken by my father, Wayne, with his digital camera.  We have other photos on film at the moment, but it'll be a while before they can be online.  Enjoy!

Oh and while Max's email address is Max@titaniumwebs.com, Alexis has an email address of her own: Alexis@titaniumwebs.com.  Feel free to email the cats... they're not quick, but they reply to every email eventually!
